Former UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov faced a troubling incident involving Frontier Airlines at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas. The Russian mixed martial arts fighter reported that he was removed from a flight following a disagreement over his seating arrangement, which has raised questions about potential racial discrimination.

In a post shared on X, Nurmagomedov detailed the encounter, clarifying that it was Frontier Airlines—not Alaska Airlines—where the situation unfolded. The conflict arose as Nurmagomedov, seated in the exit row, was questioned by a flight attendant regarding his capability to assist other passengers during an emergency. Despite his assertions that he understood English and was willing to help, he claimed the attendant was unreasonably rude and insisted on his removal from the seat.

The video captured by another passenger showcased a tense exchange, during which the flight attendant stated, “We cannot allow you to sit in the exit row… I am not going to do this back and forth. I’ll go call a supervisor.” Nurmagomedov expressed his frustration, stating the situation was unfair and emphasizing that he had followed all protocols during check-in.

When the situation escalated, the flight attendant’s supervisor offered Nurmagomedov alternate seating and even the choice to take another flight, but security was called, leading to Nurmagomedov being escorted off the plane. He eventually boarded another airline after about an hour and a half, allowing him to continue his journey to California, where he planned to support his teammates at the upcoming UFC 311 event on January 18 in Los Angeles.

Frontier Airlines has yet to issue a statement regarding the incident. This episode highlights ongoing concerns about customer treatment and discrimination within the travel industry, particularly affecting high-profile individuals.

Khabib Nurmagomedov, who retires with an impressive undefeated record of 29-0, is celebrated as one of the greatest fighters in MMA history. His experience reiterates the importance of fair treatment for all passengers, regardless of their background or status.
