Senator Jim Banks (R-Ind.) has officially endorsed entrepreneur Nate Morris in the race to succeed retiring Senator Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.). This endorsement positions Morris as a strong candidate aligned with former President Trump’s agenda, following Banks’ declaration of him as the “America First” choice in the upcoming election.

In a statement, Banks highlighted Morris’s commitment to conservative values, saying, “Nate understands, just like I do, that America is the greatest country in the world and always worth fighting for. Nate is the America First fighter we need in the Senate. President Trump needs more allies in the Senate, and Nate Morris will never let him or Kentucky down.” This endorsement marks a significant moment, as Banks is the first senator to publicly support Morris in his campaign to fill the seat occupied by McConnell since 1985.

Morris expressed his gratitude for Banks’s support, referring to him as a staunch ally of President Trump and a formidable advocate against amnesty in the Senate. His campaign is gaining traction among conservative supporters, bolstered by endorsements from prominent figures such as Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA.

The competitive Republican primary race already includes notable candidates like Rep. Andy Barr (R-Ky.), former Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron, and businessman Michael Faris. Morris has taken proactive steps in his campaign by launching a seven-figure advertising initiative aimed at targeting McConnell and other Republican competitors.

As McConnell steps back from a significant political role, the Kentucky Senate race remains classified by the Cook Political Report as “solid Republican,” indicating strong Republican support and minimal chance of a party shift.

This race will certainly be one to watch as the candidates vie for support in what has historically been a strong Republican state.
