Kennedy’s Dilemma: Trump Alliance or Third Party?

Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s running mate, Nicole Shanahan, has indicated that the independent presidential candidate is contemplating either collaborating with Donald Trump’s campaign or continuing his own run to establish a third party. During a recent podcast appearance, Shanahan discussed the strategic decisions ahead, emphasizing the importance of avoiding the potential threat of a Kamala Harris presidency. She also accused the Democratic Party of undermining their campaign by placing operatives within it.

Shanahan stated, “We’re weighing two options: either stay in and create that new party, which risks votes being drawn away from Trump, or we could opt to unite with Donald Trump, making a difficult decision.” She highlighted that it is a challenging choice for them. The podcast, which aired on Tuesday, has sparked curiosity regarding the Kennedy campaign’s direction, prompting inquiries from various media outlets.

In a social media post, Kennedy expressed his willingness to engage with leaders from any political party to advance the objectives he has pursued throughout his 40-year career and current campaign. Shanahan conveyed her belief that Trump’s leadership would be more beneficial for the country than that of Democratic nominee Kamala Harris and dismissed claims that discussions had taken place between the Kennedy campaign and Harris’s team regarding a possible endorsement or cabinet role.
