Kendrick Lamar to Ignite Super Bowl Halftime Show: What to Expect?

Kendrick Lamar is set to headline the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show next year in New Orleans, marking a significant moment on the NFL’s biggest stage. The event will take place on February 9 at the Caesars Superdome, as announced by the NFL, Apple Music, and Roc Nation.

The Grammy-winning rapper, renowned for his 17 Grammy awards, expressed excitement about showcasing hip-hop during the championship game. Last year, he made a guest appearance alongside Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg.

“Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date,” Lamar stated. “And I’ll be there to remind the world why. They got the right one.”

Since his debut album “good kid, m.A.A.d city” in 2012, Lamar has achieved remarkable success, including becoming the first non-classical, non-jazz musician to win a Pulitzer Prize for his 2017 album “DAMN.”

His latest album, “Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers,” was released in 2022. He also collaborated on the song “Like That” with Future and Metro Boomin, which topped the Billboard Hot 100 for three weeks, alongside another hit “Not Like Us.”

Roc Nation founder Jay-Z praised Lamar as a “once-in-a-generation” artist, noting his profound impact on hip-hop and culture.

“His deep love for hip-hop and culture informs his artistic vision,” Jay-Z remarked. “He has an unparalleled ability to define and influence culture globally. Kendrick’s work transcends music, and his impact will be felt for years to come.”

The halftime show will be co-executive produced by Roc Nation and Emmy-winning producer Jesse Collins, with creative direction from pgLang.
