The public relations firm representing Travis Kelce is contemplating legal action following the emergence of a “false and fabricated” press release that suggested a breakup between the football player and Taylor Swift.
A purportedly leaked document titled “Comprehensive Media Plan For Travis Kelce’s Relations Following Breakup with Taylor Swift” surfaced on Reddit this week, claiming the couple split in late September. The document appeared to bear the letterhead of Full Scope Public Relations, the agency representing Kelce.
On Thursday, Full Scope categorically rejected the authenticity of the document in a statement to People. The firm stressed that the “Comprehensive Media Plan” was entirely fake and created by unknown individuals.
“These documents are entirely false and fabricated and were not created, issued, or authorized by this agency,” a spokesperson for Full Scope stated. “We have engaged our legal team to initiate proceedings against the individuals or entities responsible for the unlawful and injurious forgery of documents.”
The Reddit post that shared the fraudulent document has since been removed, prompting speculation among fans that it may have been the result of an overenthusiastic fan’s school project.
The release of the fake document conveniently coincided with the Kansas City Chiefs’ opening game for the 2024 season, set for Thursday night, an event that Swift is expected to attend. The pop star has also recently been featured prominently in the NFL’s promotional materials for the upcoming season.
In recent interviews, Swift has frequently been mentioned by Kelce, who shared on the Rich Eisen Show that Swift has shown interest in learning about football. “She had just been so open to learning the game, she didn’t know much about the rules or anything…I think she was just curious about the profession,” he said. “I know none of the plays have gotten to Coach [Andy] Reid yet, but if they ever do I’ll make sure everyone knows it was her creation.”
