Keefer and Brennan Eye Breakthroughs at Mexico’s World Wide Technology Championship

The PGA Tour’s FedEx Cup Fall kicks off this week in Mexico with the World Wide Technology Championship taking place at El Cardonal, located in the picturesque Diamante Cabo San Lucas. The event features a competitive field, showcasing prominent golfers such as Ryder Cup participants Ben Griffin and J.J. Spaun, alongside the 2023 U.S. Open champion, Wyndham Clark.

As excitement builds, the Subpar podcast hosts, Colt Knost and Drew Stoltz, are turning their attention to the PGA Tour’s rising stars for their betting insights this week. One notable newcomer is Johnny Keefer, who recently finished at the top of the Korn Ferry Tour points list and is set to make his debut as a PGA Tour rookie next season. Currently ranked 53rd in the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR), a strong performance at the WWT Championship could propel him into the coveted top 50, enhancing his chances to qualify for the Masters tournament as one of the elite players.

Stoltz expressed confidence in Keefer’s potential, stating, “I’m taking a guy who is an unproven commodity on the PGA Tour because he’s just now getting there. He won the points list on the Korn Ferry Tour. He’s pushing top 50 in the world without having a PGA Tour card, which is crazy. I’m going to take him to top 20 at +220. He’s really good. Everyone on the Korn Ferry Tour points to him and says, ‘This is the guy.’”

Knost, on the other hand, is banking on Michael Brennan to shine once again. Brennan recently captured victory at the Bank of Utah Championship after receiving a sponsor’s invitation, making him a player to watch in Mexico. Knost remarked, “I don’t know if it’s a one-hit wonder; I’ve hardly seen the man play. But he won in his last start. He got a sponsor’s exemption and he won. You can get Michael Brennan top 10 at +330. This place is wide open, like Black Desert. Michael Brennan smashes it. We’re talking 190 mph ball speed. Place should be perfect for him.”

With a mix of established champions and emerging talents, the World Wide Technology Championship promises to deliver thrilling golf action, showcasing the future of the sport. As fans tune in, the stage is set for these players to make their mark in this prestigious tournament.
