Kawasaki is set to introduce an exciting new flagship model, the Z1100, which is geared towards sport motorcycle enthusiasts and is likely to launch in 2026. This bike will be part of the brand’s continuation of introducing high-performance machines, following the release of the Versys 1100 and Ninja 1100 SX in India.
The Z1100 will succeed the older Z1000 and is expected to share the 1,099 cc inline four-cylinder engine found in the Versys 1100 and Ninja 1100 SX. This will provide impressive performance numbers, potentially mirroring the 134 bhp output at 9,000 rpm and generating peak torque of 113 Nm at 7,600 rpm, as seen in the Ninja model.
Notably, the Z1100 is projected to be lighter than the Ninja 1100 SX, weighing in at 220 kg—18 kg less than the Ninja, thanks to a lighter sub-frame and the absence of a fairing. Both models will have an identical wheelbase of 1440 mm, and while the Ninja 1100 SX reaches a top speed of 251 kmph, the Z1100 is anticipated to have a slightly lower top speed of around 247 kmph.
Though images of the Z1100 are not yet available, official European type approval documents provide insights into its specifications. Kawasaki’s marketing strategy often aims to offer competitive pricing, and if the Z1100 is introduced at a price point below that of the Versys 1100—currently priced at Rs. 12.90 lakh—there’s a strong chance it could replicate the remarkable success of the Z900, which is presently Kawasaki’s best-selling motorcycle in India.
The motorcycle community can look forward to a potential unveiling at the EICMA 2025 show in Italy, which would set the stage for its global market introduction. This new addition to Kawasaki’s lineup is anticipated to draw interest from both seasoned riders and new enthusiasts alike, highlighting Kawasaki’s commitment to innovation and quality in the motorcycle segment. The introduction of the Z1100 could mark yet another remarkable chapter in Kawasaki’s legacy, fortifying its position within the competitive sports bike market.
