Kawasaki’s Game Changer: Meet the Z1100 for 2026!

Kawasaki is set to introduce the Z1100 for the 2026 model year, marking a significant addition to its lineup of naked bikes. This announcement follows last year’s launch of the Versys 1100 and Ninja 1100SX, which hinted at a potential update to the Z900, but left enthusiasts longing for a new liter-class option.

The confirmation of the Z1100’s arrival comes from a recently published executive order by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) that includes the ZR1100HT model code, signifying the use of Kawasaki’s 1,099cc Inline-Four engine. In terms of performance, the engines in the Versys and Ninja models deliver impressive outputs, with the Versys 1100 boasting 133 horsepower and 82.5 lb-ft of torque, and the Ninja 1100SX slightly edging with about 134 hp and 83.2 lb-ft of torque. Enthusiasts expect the upcoming Z1100 to lean towards the Ninja’s performance metrics.

Interestingly, the addition of the Z1100 comes at a time when Kawasaki is also planning to continue the Z900 into 2026. Despite the updates seen in the Z900 for 2025, the new model codes associated with it, such as ZR902AT, ZR902BT, and ZR902ET, imply that Kawasaki remains committed to evolving its Z series further.

This exciting news for motorcycle fans suggests that Kawasaki is not only enhancing its lineup but also addressing the demands of riders looking for powerful naked bikes in the liter-class segment. With the anticipated Z1100, Kawasaki is poised to rekindle the excitement around its naked offerings, potentially bringing a new level of performance and style to the market. As we await further details, the future looks promising for fans of the brand and the Z series.
