Katy Perry Sparks Controversy with Dr. Luke Collaboration in New Album 143!

Katy Perry has received backlash for her decision to work with producer Dr. Luke on her new album, titled 143. Dr. Luke, who has been instrumental in creating some of her biggest hits, has faced allegations of sexual abuse from Kesha, which he denies. Kesha’s accusations instigated a lengthy legal battle that was resolved last year. Katy addressed the criticism during a recent episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast.

In response to host Alex Cooper, who noted that many fans were “really upset” about Dr. Luke’s involvement in 143, Katy explained her rationale for collaborating with him. “I understand that it started a lot of conversations, and he was one of many collaborators that I worked with. But the reality is, it comes from me,” she stated. “The truth is, I wrote these songs from my experience throughout my life, and he was one of the people to help facilitate all that. One of the writers, one of the producers. I’m speaking from my own experience.”

Katy also highlighted that the song “Women’s World,” which she co-wrote and produced with Dr. Luke, is a reflection of her feelings of empowerment as a woman and a mother. She emphasized, “So I created all of this with several different collaborators, people I’ve worked with from the Teenage Dream era. All of that.”

Earlier in the episode, Katy shared her perspective on relationships, saying that when it comes to men, her “love language” involves helping with household chores. “I don’t need a red Ferrari … I can buy a red Ferrari,” she remarked. “Just do the f****** dishes!”
