Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom shared a display of affection on the red carpet at a recent charity event in New York, but it was a photo featuring them alongside Kim Kardashian that stirred significant attention online.
The engaged couple, who have been together since 2019, attended the Kering Foundation’s Caring for Women Dinner, an annual fundraiser focused on raising awareness and funds for organizations addressing gender-based violence.
In a circulating image of the trio, Bloom appears to be looking down and slightly to the left, with Kardashian seemingly within his line of sight.
The photo was published by TMZ on September 10, suggesting that Bloom was “peering” at Kardashian. Later that day, Perry was asked for her thoughts on the image during an interview on the nationally syndicated radio show “Elvis Duran and the Morning Show.”
Duran presented the photo to Perry, humorously stating, “It’s you taking a photo with Kim Kardashian, and Orlando’s staring at her butt.” Perry responded succinctly, saying, “I approve.”
As Duran read an excerpt from the TMZ article, Perry questioned, “So, what’s the controversy?” To which Duran replied, “There is no controversy,” leading Perry to add, “Oh great. Count that click, honey.”
Perry’s appearance on the show preceded her upcoming performance at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards, where she is set to receive the Video Vanguard Award, recognizing her significant contributions to pop music. Additionally, her seventh studio album, titled “143,” which includes the summer hit “Woman’s World,” will be released on September 20.
