Kate Middleton has completed her chemotherapy treatment. In a video shared on Monday, the Princess of Wales provided a health update alongside Prince William and their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
“As summer ends, I cannot express how relieved I am to have finished my chemotherapy treatment,” she stated in the video. “The past nine months have been incredibly challenging for our family. Life can change in an instant, and we have had to find ways to navigate through these difficult times.”
Middleton emphasized the complexity and unpredictability of the cancer journey, particularly for those closest to the affected individual. “It also confronts you with your own vulnerabilities and provides a new perspective on life,” she added.
The video features Middleton and her family strolling through a lush green forest, while she reflects on how the challenging months have led her and Prince William to appreciate things they once overlooked, including their love for one another.
“Now, my focus is on staying cancer-free,” she continued, noting that she will be attending several public events in the upcoming months, having already made appearances at Wimbledon and during a parade for King Charles’ birthday this summer. “Even though I have completed chemotherapy, my healing journey is long, and I must take each day as it comes.”
She expressed gratitude for the support received during her treatment, stating that she has drawn “great strength” from the messages of love. Middleton also extended her support to those currently battling cancer, encouraging them with the words, “Out of darkness, can come light, so let that light shine bright.”
“Entering this new phase of recovery, I do so with a renewed sense of hope and appreciation for life,” she concluded in the clip.
Middleton revealed her cancer diagnosis in late March, following a hospitalization for abdominal surgery. She stepped out of the public eye for several weeks, prompting fans to speculate about her health.
“This was, of course, a huge shock,” Middleton said at that time. “William and I have been doing everything we can to process this privately for the sake of our young family.”
