Kate Middleton Celebrates a New Chapter After Cancer Treatment

Kate Middleton has announced that she has completed her chemotherapy treatment.

In a video released on Monday, the Princess of Wales expressed that she is entering a “new phase of recovery” after finishing her treatment for cancer, which she disclosed in March. The video featured Middleton with Prince William and their three children.

“As the summer draws to a close, I cannot describe the relief I feel having finally completed my chemotherapy treatment. The last nine months have been incredibly challenging for our family. Life can change in an instant, and we have had to navigate through turbulent times,” she shared.

She added, “The cancer journey is complicated, frightening, and unpredictable for everyone, especially for those closest to you. With humility, it also forces you to confront your vulnerabilities in a way you may never have imagined, offering a new perspective on everything. This experience has reminded William and me to appreciate the simple yet significant aspects of life that many of us often overlook, such as the act of loving and being loved.”

Middleton emphasized that her focus is now on “doing what I can to remain cancer-free. Although I have finished chemotherapy, my journey to healing and full recovery is long, and I must take things one day at a time.”

She expressed that she is “looking forward to returning to work and participating in more public engagements in the coming months as I am able.”

“Despite everything we’ve been through, I approach this new phase of recovery with renewed hope and an appreciation for life,” she said. “William and I are incredibly thankful for the support we have received and have drawn strength from everyone who has been there for us. The kindness, empathy, and compassion of others have been deeply humbling. To those continuing their own cancer journey, I stand with you, side by side, hand in hand. From darkness can come light, so let that light shine brightly.”

This message comes after Middleton previously expressed gratitude in June for the well-wishes she received following her cancer announcement, after which there was increased speculation about her health. At that time, she confirmed that her treatment was ongoing and would extend “for a few more months.” She mentioned how, on days when she felt well, it was a joy to engage with school activities and enjoy personal time on things that uplift her, while also starting to do some work from home.

“I am learning to be patient, especially with the uncertainty,” she remarked. “I am taking each day as it comes, listening to my body, and giving myself the necessary time to heal. Thank you so much for your continued understanding and to everyone who has graciously shared their stories with me.”
