Fox News contributor Kat Timpf has made her return to the late-night political comedy show, Gutfeld!, after an extended break for surgery following her breast cancer diagnosis. At 36 years old, Timpf first disclosed her battle with cancer during a July episode of the show, revealing she received her diagnosis just hours before giving birth to her first child in February.

On Monday, Timpf appeared on Martha MacCallum’s show before rejoining her seat on Gutfeld!, where she and fellow contributors discussed Sydney Sweeney’s American Eagle ad campaign. The campaign features the launch of “The Sydney Jean,” and it has incited significant backlash over its tagline playing on the phrase “Sydney Sweeney Has Great Genes.” Critics noted that such phrases have historical ties to eugenics.

In response to the controversy, Timpf expressed her disbelief over the media’s coverage of the ad, stating, “I have such a hard time believing that this controversy is real. And if you really are upset by this, then I genuinely feel sadness for you.” She critiqued headlines portraying the backlash in an exaggerated context, which she felt undermined more pressing issues.

Additionally, Timpf commented on Sweeney’s recent registration as a Republican in Florida, emphasizing that it should not be shocking given her wealthy background.

Regarding her health, Timpf provided an update on her cancer treatment, explaining the ongoing challenges she faces. She expressed gratitude to her supporters, noting, “I just want to thank everyone for all your support, vibes, and prayers.” This message reflects a hopeful perspective as Timpf continues her journey towards recovery, underscoring the importance of community support during difficult times.
