Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has revealed that the much-anticipated legacy sequel, “Karate Kid: Legends,” directed by Jonathan Entwistle, is set to launch on 4K UHD Blu-Ray, Blu-Ray, and DVD on August 26, 2025. This film is currently available for digital streaming and is highlighted by an impressive cast featuring Ben Wang, Joshua Jackson, Sadie Stanley, and Ming-Na Wen. Additionally, fans can look forward to a limited edition 4K UHD + Blu-Ray SteelBook and a unique 4K UHD bundle that includes a collectible skateboard, exclusively at Wal-Mart.
Coinciding with this release, the franchise will also celebrate the launch of a 4K UHD + Blu-Ray 6-Movie Collection available exclusively on Amazon. This limited edition features all six “Karate Kid” films, complete with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos technology in 4K Ultra HD. It includes a wealth of new and archival special features, including the entire 1989 animated television series in standard definition, along with exclusive collectibles packed in innovative pop-up packaging, complete with a movie sound chip.
In “Karate Kid: Legends,” viewers are introduced to Li Fong (played by Ben Wang), a kung fu prodigy who moves to New York City with his mother for a prestigious school opportunity. There, he forms a friendship with a classmate and her father, which is disrupted by a formidable local karate champion. As he prepares for an ultimate karate competition to defend himself, Li receives guidance from his kung fu teacher Mr. Han (Jackie Chan) and the iconic Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio), blending their martial arts wisdom for the upcoming showdown.
