Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign are back with their joint album, Vultures 2. The sequel was released on streaming platforms early Saturday (August 3) after a period of uncertainty.
This new release comes about six months after the original Vultures album, which topped the Billboard 200 chart for consecutive weeks, marking the first time West achieved such a feat since Watch the Throne.
Vultures 2 sets the stage for a busy month for Kanye and Ty Dolla $ign, who are scheduled to host listening parties in South Korea and Taiwan.
The venue and ticketing details for the Taiwan event remain undisclosed, but like the South Korean event, LeGrand is managing the promotional efforts.
The artists are set to perform at Goyang Stadium in South Korea on August 23 for a Vultures listening party, followed by an appearance in Taiwan two days later.
The 16-track album includes leftovers from the original Vultures sessions such as “Slide” and “Time Moving Slow.” The album features guest appearances from artists like Playboi Carti, Don Toliver, Lil Wayne, Future, and Young Thug.
“Slide” was the first song from the album to hit streaming services, followed by a livestream on YouTube on Friday night (August 2) before the album’s full release on streaming platforms.
Kanye and Ty Dolla $ign continue to enjoy the success of their Vultures anthem “Carnival,” which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in March.
Ty Dolla $ign told Billboard in July that Vultures 2 was complete but waiting for a proper rollout. “We got all the songs. Basically, it’s just like, ‘How can we get it there? How can we go bigger than the first album?’” he said. “Certain people will probably expect you to just do the same exact sound. But that sound’s already out.”
