Foster Wallace Personal Injury Lawyers in Kansas City recently announced the launch of their charitable initiative, “12 Months of Giving,” which will commit $36,000 to support local nonprofits through monthly donations. This initiative comes on the heels of a successful “12 Days of Giving” campaign that showcased the firm’s dedication to community support.

The first organization to benefit from this initiative is the Open Doors Foundation, a low-barrier homeless shelter that serves the greater Kansas City area. Open Doors Foundation provides essential services such as short-term shelter, hot meals, and case management resources aimed at aiding individuals experiencing homelessness. The foundation’s approach focuses on accessibility, allowing those in need to receive help without having to meet sobriety or other typical barriers.

Brian Wallace, one of the founding attorneys, visited Open Doors to personally present the January donation, engaging with Operations Director Matthew to learn more about their vital work. Matthew highlighted the foundation’s inclusive approach, stating, “We try to meet people where they’re at, rather than trying to force people to fit into a specific program.”

Foster Wallace’s commitment to philanthropy is deeply rooted in personal experiences. Co-founder Michael Foster reflected on his family’s struggles following their daughter Hattie’s diagnosis with SYNGAP1, a rare genetic disorder. This journey highlighted the importance of community support and inspired the firm’s ongoing dedication to highlighting and supporting nonprofit efforts in the area.

The “12 Months of Giving” initiative invites the Kansas City community to nominate local nonprofits for a $3,000 donation each month, ensuring that the support aligns with community needs. Nominations for February are currently open until January 28, encouraging local residents to play an active role in suggesting organizations that are making a difference.

Through this initiative, Foster Wallace Personal Injury Lawyers aims to create a lasting positive impact within Kansas City by facilitating ongoing support for essential services. As the firm continues to strengthen its community connections, it hopes to inspire others to join in the effort to uplift local nonprofits and those they serve.
