Kaiser Permanente proudly announced its receipt of the prestigious Wrigley Legacy Award for its 2025 Rose Parade float, which embodies the organization’s mission of enhancing the health of its members and the communities it serves. Greg A. Adams, chair and CEO of Kaiser Permanente, expressed enthusiasm about the float, emphasizing its focus on integrated care that not only prioritizes clinical excellence but also encompasses the physical, mental, and social well-being of members.
The design of Kaiser Permanente’s float is striking, featuring a brilliant sun adorned with yellow strawflower, white rice, and gold clover seeds, all highlighted by yellow button mums arranged as stars. A vibrant rainbow made of carnations stretches across the float, topped with a calm moon decorated with white rice and gray lettuce seed, enveloped by more stars. Standing at 28 feet tall and measuring 18 feet wide and 55 feet long, this float, crafted by Phoenix Decorating Company, is a vivid representation of colors and textures enriched with various floral designs, fruits, and vegetables.
During the parade, eleven Kaiser Permanente members and care providers enjoyed a ride on the float, while nine athletes, coaches, guardians, and volunteers from Special Olympics Southern California marched alongside. Kaiser Permanente has a longstanding partnership with SOSC, reinforcing shared values of diversity, equity, and inclusion. The collaborative effort is reflective of the float’s theme, showcasing how inclusivity, movement, and connection are vital for nurturing lifelong health.
Kaiser Permanente has a history of award-winning floats, with accolades including the President’s Award in 2024 and a Grand Marshal’s Trophy in 2016. These honors reinforce Kaiser Permanente’s commitment to excellence and creativity in its contributions to the Rose Parade.
The 2025 Rose Parade is set against the theme “Best Day Ever!” and will take place on January 1, 2025. With over 80,000 volunteer hours dedicated to its success, the event looks to inspire and celebrate the spirit of community and resilience.
This event not only highlights Kaiser Permanente’s achievements but also showcases its ongoing commitment to community health and inclusivity, leaving a hopeful message of togetherness and support in promoting healthful living.
