Kaiser Permanente is thrilled to announce that it has received the prestigious Wrigley Legacy Award for its float in the upcoming 2025 Rose Parade. Greg A. Adams, the chair and CEO of Kaiser Permanente, expressed the organization’s commitment to its mission, which emphasizes enhancing the health of members and communities. He highlighted the importance of an integrated care model that focuses not only on clinical excellence but also on the overall well-being of individuals, including physical, mental, and social health.
The design of Kaiser Permanente’s float promises to be a vibrant spectacle. The float will feature a shining sun adorned with yellow strawflower, white rice, and gold clover seeds, along with yellow button mums arranged in a star pattern. A rainbow made of carnations will stretch across the float, while a tranquil moon at the rear, embellished with white rice, gray lettuce seed, and white button mums, will be surrounded by stars. Crafted by Phoenix Decorating Company, the float measures an impressive 28 feet in height, 18 feet in width, and 55 feet in length, showcasing a splendid display of colors and textures, as well as various floral arrangements, fruits, and vegetables.
During the parade, eleven Kaiser Permanente members and care providers will have the honor of riding the float, accompanied by nine athletes, coaches, guardians, and volunteers from Special Olympics Southern California, emphasizing the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion that the organization stands for. This collaboration serves as a key aspect of the float’s theme, demonstrating how inclusivity and connection can nurture lifelong health.
Kaiser Permanente has a history of success in the Rose Parade, receiving numerous awards in past years for their outstanding float designs, including the President Award for most exceptional use of flowers and the Grand Marshal’s Trophy. Their dedication to creativity and excellence consistently shines through in their entries.
The 2025 Rose Parade, themed “Best Day Ever!,” is set to take place on January 1, 2025, as part of America’s New Year Celebration, which also includes the Rose Bowl Game and various other events. The Pasadena Tournament of Roses®, a volunteer-driven organization, coordinates these festivities, relying on over 80,000 volunteer hours.
This event is not just a celebration of floral artistry but also a testament to the power of community engagement and inclusivity. Kaiser Permanente’s continuous support for local initiatives, such as the Special Olympics, reflects a commitment to fostering a healthier, more connected society. As we look forward to the parade, it’s an excellent opportunity to celebrate the values of collaboration, health, and joy that enrich our communities.
