Kaiser Permanente’s Award-Winning Float: A Celebration of Health and Community

Kaiser Permanente is thrilled to announce that it has received the prestigious Wrigley Legacy Award for its float at the upcoming 2025 Rose Parade. Greg A. Adams, the chair and CEO of Kaiser Permanente, expressed enthusiasm for the recognition, emphasizing that the float embodies the organization’s core mission of enhancing health for both its members and the wider community. He highlighted the integrated care model of Kaiser Permanente, which prioritizes not just medical care but also the overall well-being encompassing physical, mental, and social dimensions.

The float for the 2025 Rose Parade showcases an eye-catching design with artistic elements such as a sun composed of yellow strawflower, white rice, and gold clover seeds, accentuated by star-shaped yellow button mums. A colorful rainbow made of carnations runs the length of the float, terminating in a tranquil moon adorned with white rice, gray lettuce seed, and white button mums, all set against a backdrop of stars. Designed by the Phoenix Decorating Company, the float stands 28 feet tall, 18 feet wide, and 55 feet long, showcasing an elaborate mix of colors and textures complemented by various floral arrangements, fruits, and vegetables.

During the parade, eleven Kaiser Permanente members and care providers will proudly represent the organization on the float, joined by nine athletes, coaches, guardians, and volunteers from Special Olympics Southern California. In partnership with the Special Olympics, which Kaiser Permanente has supported for over a decade, the float’s theme emphasizes the importance of inclusivity, movement, and connection in promoting lifelong health and wellness.

Kaiser Permanente has a history of award-winning floats, having previously secured numerous accolades in the Rose Parade over the years. Awards include the President Award in 2024 for outstanding floral presentation and the Grand Marshal’s Trophy in 2016, demonstrating Kaiser Permanente’s commitment to excellence in design and community impact.

As the countdown to the Rose Parade continues, excitement builds around the event scheduled for January 1, 2025, which promises to be a vibrant celebration of community spirit and health awareness.

In a world that often emphasizes the need for community support and inclusivity, Kaiser Permanente’s participation in the Rose Parade symbolizes hope and collaboration among diverse groups, reinforcing that the journey towards health is best traveled together.
