Kaiser Permanente is honored to receive the esteemed Wrigley Legacy Award for its 2025 Rose Parade float, which vividly reflects the organization’s mission of promoting health and wellness in both its members and the broader community. Greg A. Adams, chair and CEO of Kaiser Permanente, expressed enthusiasm about the float, emphasizing that it is not just about excellence in clinical care but also about nurturing the overall health—physical, mental, and social—of those it serves.
The float, designed by Phoenix Decorating Company, boasts a striking design that includes a sun adorned with yellow strawflowers, white rice, and gold clover seeds, alongside vibrant yellow button mums arranged like stars. Flowing across the float is a colorful rainbow crafted from carnations, culminating in a tranquil moon decorated with white rice and lettuce seed, encircled by stars. Measuring 28 feet tall, 18 feet wide, and 55 feet long, it is a stunning representation of color and creativity utilizing an array of floral elements, fruits, and vegetables.
At the parade, Kaiser Permanente showcased eleven members and care providers on the float, complemented by nine athletes, coaches, and volunteers from Special Olympics Southern California (SOSC). This collaboration reinforces a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, aligning with the float’s theme of how connectivity and movement are essential for lifelong health.
Kaiser Permanente has a notable history of award-winning floats, including accolades such as the President Award for outstanding floral presentation in 2024, the Theme Award in 2022, and the Grand Marshal’s Trophy in 2016. Their consistent recognition underscores the dedication to artistry and meaningful connections within their community.
Looking ahead, the 2025 Rose Parade, themed “Best Day Ever!,” is set to take place on January 1, with Kaiser Permanente actively contributing to the celebrations of health and well-being. The Tournament of Roses organization, staffed by thousands of dedicated volunteers, will ensure that this event continues to be a cherished American tradition.
Overall, this celebration of creativity, inclusion, and health serves as an inspiring reminder of how communities can come together to promote a shared vision of well-being.
