Kadavu Rugby Captain Vaione Tegu has voiced his pride and determination as his team moves forward to the semi-finals of the Vodafone Vanua Championship. “This campaign is about changing the narrative surrounding Kadavu,” Tegu stated. He strives to illustrate that the province can foster a positive reputation in sports, particularly within domestic competitions. “There’s so much negativity associated with Kadavu. My team and I want to change that perception,” he added.
Tegu expressed gratitude toward Kadavu Rugby Union President Lynda Tabuya and the committee for their steadfast support throughout the season. Their recent nail-biting victory over Tavua, winning 30-29 at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka, was instrumental in securing their position in the competition. Next up, the team is scheduled to face Taveuni at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva next Tuesday, while Navosa will compete against Rewa in another semifinal matchup.
