Kadavu and the New World IGA Ba Women’s rugby teams have both successfully advanced to the semi-finals in their respective competitions held at Lawaqa Park. Kadavu narrowly defeated Tavua 30-29 in a thrilling Vodafone Vanua Cup quarter-final match. The game saw both teams tied 10-all at halftime, with Samuela Nagatalevu and Seveci Tora scoring tries for Kadavu and Tavua, respectively. The second half remained intensely competitive, with Kadavu securing the win through efforts from Josefa Baleiloa and Mikawele Tiwa, alongside accurate kicks by Savenaca Durusolo. Tavua responded with tries from Vetero Ramatau, Semi Ralulu, and Naibuka Qarau, but Kadavu maintained their lead.

Kadavu’s coach, Jo Bola, commended his team’s discipline and focus on the game plan, while Tavua’s manager, Apakuki Tuitavua, expressed disappointment over the Tavua coaches’ conduct towards match officials, emphasizing the importance of sportsmanship and acceptance of the referee’s decisions.

In the women’s Royal Tea Ranadi Cup, defending champions Ba showcased their dominance by defeating Nukuloa with a staggering 102-15 victory. Ba’s captain, Tuliana Ragadi, expressed gratitude to God, their sponsors, and the team’s supporters, attributing their success to the collective support. Ba is set to face Rewa in the next round, and Tavua will compete against Macuata in the other Ranadi Cup semi-final.
