The search for 23-year-old Kada Scott, who has been missing since October 4, continues to draw concern and urgency from her family and law enforcement. Her father, Kevin Scott, expressed his love and hope for her safety during an interview with Dateline.
Kada, a Philadelphia native and recent Penn State graduate, was last seen after leaving for her overnight shift at The Terrace at Chestnut Hill. Prior to her shift, she had dinner with friends and borrowed her mother’s car, leaving home at around 9:45 p.m. Kevin noted that it was unusual for Kada not to return home or contact anyone after her shift, which ended at 6 a.m. the following morning.
The following day, Kevin received a call from Kada’s mother inquiring whether he had heard from her. It was reported that Kada had not arrived home after her shift, prompting her mother to report her missing to the police that evening. When law enforcement searched the area around her workplace, they discovered her mother’s car still parked in the employee parking lot, but there were no signs of Kada. Kevin emphasized the peculiarity of her cell phone being off, as she is typically very connected and accessible.
Police investigations indicated that prior to her disappearance, Kada had been subjected to harassment from unknown individuals via phone. This has raised further concerns regarding her safety and the circumstances surrounding her vanishing. As part of their efforts, the Philadelphia Police Department deployed canines, helicopters, and drones in search efforts but unfortunately found no leads.
With the investigation now transitioned to the homicide unit, Sergeant John Craig confirmed that there has been no cellphone or social media activity from Kada since her disappearance. Meanwhile, Kevin mentioned that the FBI has also now taken an interest in the case, though they have not yet been in direct contact with the family.
Kevin remains hopeful, stating, “We’re working as hard as we can,” while appealing to the public for any information that could help locate his daughter. At the time of her disappearance, Kada stood at 5’6” tall and weighed approximately 120 lbs, last seen wearing black joggers and a black top. Anyone with information about her whereabouts is urged to contact the Philadelphia Police Department at 215-686-3353.
As the search continues, both the community and Kada’s family are holding onto hope for her safe return.
