Michigan’s standout running back Justice Haynes has officially entered the NCAA transfer portal after only a single season with the Wolverines. Haynes made the transition to Michigan from Alabama prior to the 2025 season, having spent two years with the Crimson Tide.

During his time at Michigan, despite facing an injury towards the end of the season, Haynes came close to becoming the team’s leading rusher. He recorded an impressive 857 yards and 10 touchdowns on 121 carries, averaging a remarkable 7.1 yards per carry.

While Haynes had a more modest impact during his earlier years at Alabama, he displayed glimpses of his potential. As a freshman in 2023, he carried the ball 25 times, accumulating 168 rushing yards and two touchdowns. His sophomore year saw him take on a greater role, as he rushed 79 times for 448 yards and seven touchdowns, while also contributing 17 receptions for 99 yards. To date, he has made 30 catches for a total of 149 yards over his three collegiate seasons.

Haynes was a highly sought-after recruit before joining Alabama, ranking as a Top 50 prospect, specifically 33rd overall in the nation by Rivals, and recognized as the second-best running back in his class. He hails from Roswell, Georgia, where he had a prolific high school career at Buford High School. In his senior year, he helped lead his team to an 11-1 record, rushing for 1,695 yards and 23 touchdowns on just 153 carries. Over his high school career, he amassed a total of 2,375 rushing yards as a junior, 1,750 yards as a sophomore, and 1,754 yards as a freshman, culminating in an impressive 97 rushing touchdowns.

As Haynes embarks on the next chapter of his football journey, college football fans and analysts alike will be watching closely to see where he lands and how he continues to develop his skills on the field. His strong performance at Michigan and his track record from high school suggest that he has a promising future ahead.
