The highly anticipated new installment of the Jurassic series is set to premiere in July 2025. Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment have officially revealed the title of the upcoming film as Jurassic World Rebirth, just six months after confirming its development.
Written by David Koepp, who penned the original Jurassic Park and its sequel, The Lost World, the film will be directed by Gareth Edwards, known for his work on Godzilla, Monsters, and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Jurassic World Rebirth boasts a star-studded cast including Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, Jonathan Bailey, Rupert Friend, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Luna Blaise, David Iacono, Audrina Miranda, Philippine Velge, Bechir Sylvain, and Ed Skrein. Steven Spielberg, who initiated the franchise over three decades ago, serves as an executive producer along with Denis L. Stewart and Jim Spencer. The film is produced by Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley.
The film’s plot is set five years after the events of Dominion, depicting a world where humans and dinosaurs coexist. As described in the synopsis, the remaining dinosaurs now live in isolated tropical regions, and their survival holds secrets crucial to human medical advancements. Johansson portrays Zora Bennett, a covert operations expert leading a mission to retrieve genetic material from the largest dinosaurs when her team unexpectedly encounters a stranded family nearby.
With the fourth entry in the Jurassic series and the seventh overall in the franchise, Jurassic World Rebirth is expected to captivate audiences when it opens in theaters next July, with a specific date to be announced. The entire Jurassic saga is currently available for home viewing through Universal Pictures Home Entertainment.
