Josh Duhamel has shared insights about his marriage to ex-wife Fergie during a recent appearance on The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Podcast. The actor, 53, and the pop star, 50, whose real name is Stacy Ferguson, were married from 2009 until their separation in 2017, with their divorce finalized two years later in 2019.

Reflecting on their relationship, Duhamel noted the couple’s differing perspectives, stating, “We’re just very different. She and I just have different views of the world, and that’s OK.” Despite their differences, he expressed gratitude for their shared son, Axl, now 12 years old, emphasizing the importance of their co-parenting relationship.

Duhamel had kind words for both Fergie and his current wife, Audra Mari, recognizing that while both women are quite different, they each bring wonderful qualities to his life. He described Fergie as “very wholesome,” particularly since stepping back from the spotlight, and praised her parenting abilities, saying, “She’s a great mom, very kind, very non-confrontational, thank God.” Duhamel also mentioned that he and Fergie maintain a “great relationship” and that she and Audra get along well.

In a prior interview on In Depth With Graham Bensinger, Duhamel elaborated on the breakdown of his marriage, saying, “I think we kind of outgrew each other and had very different interests.” He conveyed a sense of peace regarding their past, saying, “There wasn’t anything wrong with it. We had a great time,” and acknowledged that he feels fortunate to co-parent with someone as kind as Fergie.

Duhamel, originally from Minot, North Dakota, also discussed his discomfort with the Hollywood lifestyle. He reflected on how the glitz and glamour did not align with his true self, stating, “Hollywood and L.A. and that whole lifestyle can suck the soul out of you if you’re not careful.” To stay grounded, he cherishes time spent at his lakeside cabin in Minnesota, which reconnects him to his love for nature, creativity, and family.

He emphasized the strong bond he shares with Audra, noting, “We’re both hardcore North Dakotans… We both love lake life. We both love family. We both love kids.” As Duhamel discusses his journey, it is clear that he values the relationships in his life and finds fulfillment in both his roles as a father and a husband.
