Joseph Quinn, best known for his role in Stranger Things, has expressed his excitement about portraying George Harrison in Sam Mendes’ forthcoming film series centered on The Beatles. Speaking to the PA news agency during the U.K. premiere of his latest project, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Quinn described the opportunity to participate in this iconic film as both exhilarating and daunting.
“It feels exciting, it feels a little daunting,” said Quinn. He mentioned that he draws inspiration from his co-stars, including Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, and Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr, as well as from Mendes, the film’s director.
Quinn also revealed that he has been enjoying the rehearsal process for several weeks, further reflecting on the surreal nature of being involved in “a project like this” that surpasses his wildest dreams.
The films, collectively titled The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event, are set to be released in April 2028 and will uniquely present each band member’s perspective on their experiences. This project is particularly noteworthy as it marks the first time that Apple Corps Ltd. and The Beatles have allowed a studio to access the individual life stories of the band members alongside their legendary music catalog.
This upcoming film series not only pays homage to The Beatles’ enduring legacy but also represents a significant collaboration in the film industry, showcasing the talents of emerging actors like Quinn. The anticipation surrounding this project certainly signals a bright future for both the cast and the portrayal of this influential musical group.
