Fiji Police Boxing Captain Moves Up to Heavyweight for Sukuna Bowl

Jone Tuitabu Moves to Heavyweight for Sukuna Bowl Boxing Showdown

Jone Tuitabu, captain of the Fiji Police Force boxing team, is set to make a significant jump to the heavyweight category from cruiserweight for this year’s Sukuna Bowl competition. This move signifies his growth and confidence as a boxer. Tuitabu began his boxing career with the Police team in 2019 and has consistently demonstrated dedication to his training in advance of the event.

Though stepping up to a higher weight class presents new challenges, Tuitabu remains optimistic. He expressed, “Nothing much has changed in our preparations, and it’s not new for me to play up in a category. I believe I have reached a level of the game that whatever weight I’m told to play in I can play.” His determination is to lead his team in retaining their overall title at this year’s Sukuna Bowl.

The boxing matches are set to commence on Monday, with weigh-ins kicking off at 6 AM at the Nakasi Police Station, followed by the main event starting at 4 PM. The Sukuna Bowl not only showcases the skills of boxers but also embodies the spirit of sportsmanship and competition among various rival forces.

In addition to the boxing events, the week-long competition will also include men’s soccer and rugby matches, with broadcasts available for fans locally and internationally. The excitement surrounding the competition reflects not only the athletic performances, but also the sense of community it fosters. As spectators and supporters gear up for the matches, there is a hopeful atmosphere that the Sukuna Bowl will bring people together and promote fitness and camaraderie throughout Fiji.
