Jimmy Kimmel is set to return to “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on Tuesday night following a temporary suspension that stirred controversy involving Charlie Kirk. As he resumes his hosting duties, his first guests will be actor Glen Powell and musician Sarah McLachlan.

Sarah McLachlan’s involvement is particularly noteworthy due to her recent act of support for Kimmel. At a Disney event on Sunday, McLachlan was scheduled to perform alongside other artists for the Los Angeles premiere of the ABC News Studios docuseries “Lilith Fair: Building a Mystery – The Untold Story.” This series reflects on the influential women’s music festival she co-founded in the late 1990s. However, she chose to cancel her performance as a gesture of solidarity for Kimmel, emphasizing the importance of free speech. “I know you’re expecting a performance tonight, and I’m so grateful to all of you for coming,” she expressed to attendees. “I apologize if this is disappointing, but we have collectively decided not to perform, but instead to stand in solidarity in support of free speech.”

Glen Powell, Kimmel’s primary guest for the evening, is actively promoting his new Disney project, “Chad Powers,” a sports comedy series he co-created with Michael Waldron. The show is slated to launch on Hulu on September 30.

The subsequent episodes of “Jimmy Kimmel Live” promise an intriguing lineup. On Wednesday, the show will host actor Ethan Hawke and actress Lisa Ann Walter, with musical guest Yungblud. Thursday’s episode will welcome retired NFL superstar Peyton Manning and actor Oscar Nuñez, with musical performances by Alex G.

The return of Kimmel’s show is highly anticipated, given the recent focus on his suspension. The inclusion of McLachlan, Powell, and the upcoming guest lineup suggests a compelling comeback aimed at regaining momentum and engaging audiences with a diverse mix of conversations and performances.
