A highly followed jewelry influencer known as Moshe Haimoff, or “The Watch King,” was struck with a Taser and robbed of an astonishing $560,000 worth of jewelry in a brazen attack outside his home in Queens. Haimoff described the incident, which occurred last week on Wednesday morning, as a well-planned setup, given the manner in which the crime unfolded.
Haimoff, who has a substantial online presence with over 2 million followers and counts celebrities like Pete Davidson among his clients, recounted how he was approached by one of the assailants wearing a construction worker’s vest as he stood beside his SUV at around 10 a.m. Surveillance footage captured the moment the robber tackled him and his accomplice joined in, swiftly stripping him of his watch, chain, and several bracelets. They managed to flee in a silver Mercedes-Benz SUV with a driver waiting at the wheel.
Reflecting on the incident, Haimoff expressed his fear for his safety, stating, “I’m scared to leave my house now.” He highlighted that he believes he was specifically targeted, noting the strange timing wherein his neighbor had just left moments before the robbery without issue.
In a stroke of luck, Haimoff did not take his 13-year-old son to work that day, which he usually does during the summer. He suffered injuries, including cuts and bruises, and required a visit to New York-Presbyterian Queens Hospital. Yet he remains resilient, emphasizing that his life continues despite the traumatic experience. “Thank God I’m alive,” he said, reflecting a hopeful outlook in the face of adversity.
As the investigation continues, Haimoff has enhanced his security measures and remains active on social media, where he continues to showcase his jewelry products and celebrity connections. Law enforcement has released images of the suspected robbers and their getaway vehicle as they work towards ensuring justice for Haimoff, who remains determined not to let this attack dictate his life.
