Jet2 has announced an exciting expansion for summer 2027, introducing a new route from Gatwick Airport to Lesvos, Greece, and increasing its overall capacity by 27% on existing sun and leisure destinations. With the first summer program set to launch on March 26 of this year, travelers can look forward to enhanced options for their holiday plans.
Starting May 2, 2027, and continuing until October 10, 2027, Jet2 will operate Sunday flights to Lesvos. The airline has also ramped up services to popular destinations including Ibiza, Malaga, Majorca, and Tenerife. Majorca stands out as the most serviced destination from Gatwick, featuring 14 weekly flights, while Faro will see 10 departures each week.
During peak season, Jet2 will provide a remarkable 85 weekly flights from Gatwick to various destinations. This includes an array of Greek resorts, such as Crete, Corfu, and Rhodes, alongside popular Turkish and Spanish locations. The Canary Islands will also be well served, with flights to Tenerife, Lanzarote, and Gran Canaria, among others.
In addition to the new Lesvos route, Jet2’s expanded schedule includes flights to numerous appealing European destinations like Madeira, Naples, and Pula, along with North African resorts such as Agadir, Hurghada, and Sharm El Sheik.
Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2, expressed enthusiasm about the airline’s rapid growth and high customer demand, stating, “This popularity means we are significantly expanding our programme in just our second summer of operations from Gatwick, offering holidaymakers even more choice and flexibility.” He emphasized the opportunity for customers to book their summer 2027 holidays early, marking an exciting chapter for the airline and travelers alike.
