Jensen Ackles Reflects on Supernatural Legacy While Eyeing New Ventures

Jensen Ackles, renowned for his role as Dean Winchester on the iconic television series Supernatural, is reflecting fondly on his 15-year experience with the show, which he describes as “lightning in a bottle.” The beloved series ran from 2005 until 2020, amassing a total of 327 episodes and setting the record as the longest-running North American sci-fi series. Ackles expresses a deep pride in being part of such a groundbreaking phenomenon, stating, “It is a phenomenon. I wish I understood the formula.”

Since the series wrap, Ackles has maintained a close friendship with his co-stars, Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins. The trio often reunites, meeting at least once a month. Recently, both Padalecki and Collins made guest appearances alongside Ackles in the fifth and final season of The Boys, where he portrays the character Soldier Boy. Ackles humorously described the experience as inviting friends over to dinner at someone else’s house and has teased that he cannot wait to share more details about their collaboration.

Looking ahead, Ackles is ready to step back into the world of The Boys with an upcoming prequel series titled Vought Rising. Although he has only seen a few scripts, he feels excitement for what lies ahead.

Aside from his projects with Amazon Prime Video, including the crime drama Countdown, Ackles enjoys a quieter life in Connecticut with his family. He emphasizes the importance of grounding himself outside of his acting career, allowing him to find balance as a husband and father.

With the steady support of his Supernatural co-stars and his rich personal life, Ackles is poised for continued success in his endeavors. Countdown is now available for streaming on Prime Video, providing fans with more opportunities to enjoy his work.
