Jen Shah is now a free woman following her release from the Federal Prison Camp in Bryan, Texas, early on Wednesday morning after completing nearly three years of her sentence. This news was confirmed by sources, with initial reports coming from People.
Shah’s representative recently expressed that the timing of her early release feels like a “gift” and adds that she is looking forward to reuniting with her family for the upcoming holidays. The representative also noted that Shah is in a “really positive” and “hopeful” mental state, having reflected on her past during her time in prison.
The 52-year-old former star of “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” recognizes the significance of her past mistakes and is eager to embrace the future. Her focus now is on her family and establishing a healthier lifestyle. The representative emphasized that Shah has undergone real personal growth and is determined to show everyone the person she has worked hard to become.
Shah was incarcerated beginning February 17, 2023, for her involvement in a nationwide telemarketing fraud scheme. She was arrested in March 2021 and faced charges including conspiracy to commit wire fraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering. Initially pleading not guilty, she later changed her plea to guilty in July 2022 for the wire fraud charges and was subsequently sentenced to six and a half years in prison in January 2023. During her sentence, which involved the forfeiture of $6.5 million in assets and restitution to her victims, Shah benefited from reductions due to good behavior.
Shah lives with her husband, Sharrieff Shah, and their two sons, Sharrieff Jr. and Omar, and is now looking forward to building a new chapter in her life.
