Following his noteworthy performances at the CMA Awards on November 20, Jelly Roll has launched a new collaboration with the Grammy-nominated band OneRepublic. The duo has reimagined OneRepublic’s hit single “Hurt,” originally from their latest album, Artificial Paradise, released in July. Both the song and its accompanying video are now available for fans.
Teasing the collaboration, OneRepublic shared a clip on TikTok featuring lead singer Ryan Tedder singing “Hurt” in a car, with Jelly Roll joining in for the next verse. The post captured the excitement surrounding their partnership, stating, “We’ve been waiting for this one.”
Artificial Paradise marks OneRepublic’s sixth studio album, which includes previously released singles such as “Sunshine,” “Runaway,” and the David Guetta collaboration “I Don’t Wanna Wait.” The band has enjoyed success with four top 10 hits on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100, including the popular tracks “Counting Stars” and “Apologize.”
In a parallel success story, Jelly Roll has recently made his Billboard 200 chart debut with his album Beautifully Broken, featuring popular songs like “Liar” and “I Am Not Okay.” The artist has also achieved six No. 1 hits on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart. He is currently on his headlining tour, The Beautifully Broken Tour, with a concert scheduled at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on November 26.
Both artists are also set to perform on the 2023 iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour, which will visit prominent venues such as Madison Square Garden in New York City.
This collaboration not only showcases the exceptional talents of Jelly Roll and OneRepublic but also signifies the ongoing evolution of music genres, connecting different styles and audiences for a broader appeal. As fans tune in to hear this exciting partnership, it promises to be a refreshing addition to their playlists and an indication of what’s to come in their respective careers.
