The spirit of giving was alive and well in Salt Lake County as the Utah Jazz and Utah Mammoth engaged in charitable activities that spread joy throughout the community. This heartwarming initiative was part of the Smith Entertainment Group’s Pay It Forward Day, which focused on surprising locals with acts of kindness.

Among the impactful moments was a visit to the Best Friends Animal Society in Sugarhouse, where Jazz player Kyle Filipowski took time to connect with adorable puppies. Filipowski’s visit included walking dogs, cuddling with the animals, and delivering much-needed supplies such as collars, leashes, and toys that the shelter had compiled for its holiday wish list.

“This was an incredible opportunity to enjoy my passion and love for dogs and animals and try to do some good in the community,” Filipowski remarked. He expressed his hope to shed light on the importance of pet adoption and to inspire others to help find loving homes for the animals. When playfully asked about adopting a pet himself, he joked, “One for each teammate.”

In a generous gesture, the SEG Foundation also announced that they would be covering all adoption fees for families, making it easier for them to welcome a new pet into their homes just in time for the holidays. This initiative not only helped connect animals with loving families but also promoted a sense of community and generosity that embodies the true meaning of the season.
