Jay Cutler Arrested: Shocking DUI Charges Following Collision

Former NFL quarterback Jay Cutler was arrested on Thursday after a minor vehicle collision in downtown Franklin, Tennessee, according to the local police department.

The 41-year-old was charged with multiple offenses, including driving under the influence, possession of a handgun while under the influence, failing to exercise due care to avoid a collision, and implied consent violations, as detailed in a police news release.

Authorities responded to the intersection of Bridge Street and 2nd Avenue at approximately 5 p.m. after receiving reports of the crash. A driver of a GMC vehicle informed police that a man in a white Ram truck had rear-ended him and then offered $2,000 to avoid involving the authorities before attempting to leave the scene.

Upon arrival, officers engaged with Cutler, who displayed signs of intoxication including slurred speech, bloodshot eyes, and unsteady movements. He declined to undergo a standard field sobriety test.

Cutler was subsequently taken into custody, and a blood search warrant was issued at a nearby medical facility. A search of his vehicle reportedly uncovered a rifle in the backseat and a loaded handgun in the center console.

He was booked into the Williamson County Jail and later released on a $5,000 bond. Conditions of his release stipulate that he must not operate a vehicle without an ignition interlock device, which measures breath alcohol content, or while under the influence.

A representative for Cutler has not yet provided a comment regarding the incident.

Jay Cutler is known for his 12-season NFL career, primarily with the Chicago Bears. He was previously married to reality television personality Kristin Cavallari, with whom he shares three children—two sons and a daughter—before their divorce in 2020. Cutler also featured in the reality series “Very Cavallari,” which began airing in 2018 and highlighted Cavallari’s business endeavors and their family life.
