Disney’s upcoming sequel “Tron: Ares” is generating excitement, and the film’s cast enjoyed their time on set. In a recent interview, Jared Leto shared that working with Jeff Bridges, who reprises his role as Kevin Flynn, was a highlight of the experience. Leto recalled a moment when he had to call “cut” during a take because he couldn’t stop smiling due to Bridges’ presence.

Leto expressed his admiration for Bridges, stating, “He’s everything. You know, it’s a money back guarantee: That motherf–ker gives you everything you ever wanted.”

The film was first showcased at Disney’s D23 fan event, where Leto, Bridges, and co-stars Greta Lee and Evan Peters presented the initial extended trailer. Leto described his character, Ares, as a program seeking to claim the Grid for himself.

In a discussion about the film’s plot, Leto indicated that it explores the concept of technology emerging from the Tron world into reality, somewhat echoing themes from “The Terminator.” He confirmed that “Tron: Ares” continues the story from 2010’s “Tron: Legacy.”

Expressing gratitude for being part of both “Tron” and “Blade Runner,” films that significantly impacted his childhood, Leto humorously remarked that he feels like he is “living in my simulation over here.”

“Tron: Ares” is slated for release on October 10, 2025.
