Janelle Brown, known for her role on the reality series “Sister Wives,” appears to be contemplating a departure from the TLC show that has contributed to her fame. On December 21, 2025, the 56-year-old mother of six shared a reflective message on social media, hinting at the changes in her life and her perspective on personal growth.
In her Instagram Reel, Janelle expressed feelings of uncertainty about her past decisions, stating, “I used to think I’d ‘broken’ at certain points in my life.” She reflected on significant changes, such as leaving the show and her marriage, acknowledging the societal pressure to have everything figured out as one grows older. Instead of viewing these experiences as breaking points, Janelle described them as “shedding points”—moments where she let go of outdated expectations and identities that didn’t align with her true self.
Janelle’s split from Kody Brown, the patriarch of their polygamous family, occurred in December 2023, after nearly three decades of marriage. They share six children: Logan, Garrison, Gabriel, Hunter, Savanah, and Madison. Tragically, in March 2024, Garrison, who faced difficulties stemming from family dynamics, took his own life.
In her poignant social media message, Janelle emphasized that while the process of shedding past identities can be painful, it ultimately leads to self-discovery. “Shedding feels painful while you’re in it, but on the other side you realize you didn’t lose yourself… you uncovered her,” she wrote, extending encouragement to those undergoing similar transitions.
After her separation, Janelle made a significant life change by relocating from Flagstaff, Arizona, to Chocowinity, North Carolina, where she and her daughter Maddie Brush purchased a large flower farm named Taeda Farms. Additionally, she founded Second Chapter Coaching, focusing on supporting middle-aged women in reinventing their lives.
Janelle’s journey resonates with many who experience life changes, serving as a reminder that every ending can lead to a new beginning filled with possibility.
