Recalling the surreal experience of being unconscious, he humorously noted, “I saw the tunnel. I didn’t see the light,” adding there was a moment of panic in the heat of the tunnel. Despite the overwhelming challenges, Foxx emphasized the importance of retaining his sense of humor, noting, “If I could stay funny, I could stay alive.”
