Mark Williams is available to play, and Jalen Green will make his much-anticipated return from injury for the Phoenix Suns in their matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday. Head coach Jordan Ott confirmed that Green will come off the bench during this game.
The 23-year-old guard, who was acquired from Houston as part of the Kevin Durant trade, has been sidelined due to a hamstring injury, which limited him to just 30 minutes on the court over two games this season. After missing the first eight games of the 2025-26 season, Green made his return on November 6 against the Los Angeles Clippers, showcasing his scoring ability with 29 points in only 23 minutes. Unfortunately, he reinjured his hamstring just two days later, seven minutes into another game against the same Clippers team. Following a re-evaluation on December 22, it was determined that Green would miss an additional two to three weeks.
In a positive update for the Suns, Williams, who was initially listed as questionable due to right knee injury management, played 29 minutes in the Suns’ recent win against Brooklyn, contributing 16 points, eight rebounds, three blocks, and two steals.
On the other hand, the 76ers are facing challenges with their lineup. Star player Joel Embiid is out due to right ankle injury management. Embiid had a standout performance against the Indiana Pacers, scoring 30 points in 33 minutes, but has now been ruled out for the back-to-back game, a protocol he often follows due to knee injury management. Additionally, Paul George’s status is uncertain as he is listed as questionable with left knee injury management after missing Monday’s game.
The highly anticipated Suns vs. 76ers game is set to tip off at 5 p.m. MST, and fans can tune in on 98.7 or via the Arizona Sports app. This matchup not only highlights the return of a promising young talent in Green but also showcases the challenges teams face in managing player health and readiness as the season progresses.
