Jalen Green Nears Suns Season Debut as Hamstring Rehab Progresses

Jalen Green will not be playing when the Suns face off against the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday evening, although he is reportedly progressing towards his season debut, as noted by Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic. The Suns had high hopes for Green, especially after acquiring him from the Houston Rockets in a trade involving superstar Kevin Durant, intending for him to be a significant scoring contributor. Unfortunately, a strained right hamstring has kept him sidelined.

On Saturday, Green took a positive step towards recovery by participating in full-court five-on-five drills, a critical milestone in his rehabilitation process. Coach Jordan Ott commented on this development, stating, “It was full-court before practice. So that part is good. We’ll have to take a look tonight after this and into (Sunday).”

In his previous seasons with the Rockets, Green showcased remarkable durability, managing to play all 82 games. However, he has been grappling with this hamstring injury since early training camp and aggravated it in early October while the team was in China for two exhibition games against the Brooklyn Nets.

As the Suns continue to navigate the season, the potential return of Green offers a glimmer of hope to their offensive strategies moving forward. Fans and teammates alike are eager for his comeback as they seek to bolster their performance on the court.
