Phoenix Suns guard Jalen Green will be sidelined for the team’s season opener against the Sacramento Kings on October 22 due to a re-injury of his left hamstring. This setback occurred while he was in China, as confirmed by head coach Jordan Ott prior to the final preseason matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers on October 14.
Ott announced that Green will undergo a re-evaluation in 10 days, which may align with his possible return for the second game of the season on October 24 against the Los Angeles Clippers. This would initiate a challenging three-game road trip for the Suns, which also includes games against the Denver Nuggets on October 25 and the Utah Jazz on October 27.
This current hamstring issue follows a previous strain sustained by Green during training camp leading up to the preseason. He has not participated in any preseason games so far, having missed opportunities to showcase his skills before the regular season begins.
Green, who was acquired in a trade that sent Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets, brings experience to the Suns after averaging 20.1 points over four seasons with Houston and playing in all 82 games during his last two seasons.
As the Suns prepare for the beginning of their season, fans and analysts await updates on Green’s recovery, hoping to see him back on the court soon. His absence is felt, but there is optimism that he will bounce back and contribute to the team’s success as the season progresses.
