Jadrolinija, Croatia’s leading maritime transportation company, has reported an impressive performance in the first eight months of 2025, with 9.5 million passengers transported, a figure consistent with the previous year. Additionally, the company has seen a two percent increase in vehicle transportation, with 2.8 million vehicles carried in this period.

The Jadrolinija Management Board shines a spotlight on financial stability as a vital aspect of their operations, while also emphasizing that financial results are not the sole indicator of success. A significant portion of the company’s financial resources is earmarked for fleet renewal, maintenance, and enhancing safety across all operations, reflecting the company’s strategic priorities aimed at boosting competitiveness and sustainability in the long run.

During the bustling summer season, which constitutes a major part of the yearly traffic, the company managed to transport over 6 million passengers, executing up to 600 departures daily on its most traveled routes, with operations continuing 24 hours a day. Thanks to robust planning and rapid responses, technical challenges encountered during the peak tourist season were swiftly resolved, avoiding prolonged disruptions.

Acknowledging the rising costs of raw materials and market expenses, Jadrolinija remains committed to substantial investments in maintaining the safety and technical accuracy of its 58 vessels. Safety has been a top priority following the appointment of a new management team in February, and the company has strengthened its maritime safety services and adopted additional safety measures.

Looking ahead, Jadrolinija is planning to modernize its aging fleet, which currently averages 27.8 years, slightly younger than the European average of 33 years. The company is focusing on acquiring double-sided ferries powered by bio-diesel or dual propulsion systems, alongside passenger ships that utilize alternative energy sources, aligning with national and EU decarbonization goals.

These forward-thinking strategies not only aim to enhance environmental sustainability but also demonstrate Jadrolinija’s commitment to maintaining its dominant position in Adriatic maritime transport while fostering a safer, more efficient, and environmentally friendly service.
