JACK’S of Fiji has officially launched a significant two-year sponsorship agreement with the Tailevu Rugby Football Union (TRFU), marking a pivotal moment for both organizations in their mission to enhance provincial rugby in Fiji. Following two months of productive discussions, the partnership emphasizes shared objectives aimed at improving grassroots rugby, prioritizing player welfare, and creating sustainable opportunities within Tailevu Province.

During the signing ceremony held on Wednesday, Jason Kumar, marketing officer of the Jacks group, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, noting its alignment with the company’s values and historical commitment to community development through sports. He acknowledged Tailevu’s rich rugby heritage and community ties as ideal factors for collaboration, stating, “We believe that this collaboration will play a significant role in the advancement and longevity of provincial rugby.”

The sponsorship encompasses support for team apparel and merchandise, financial backing, and branding initiatives, utilizing a revenue model based on merchandise royalties to generate ongoing financial support for the Union. Joseph Rodan Snr, president of TRFU, lauded the partnership as a vital enhancement to the Union’s operations and long-term strategic objectives.

Rodan voiced appreciation for JACK’S of Fiji, stating, “We are honoured to be associated with a respected Fijian brand that shares our vision for grassroots development, strong governance, and long-term sustainability.” The collaboration will significantly support players, clubs, and officials as they prepare for upcoming prestigious provincial competitions, including the Skipper Cup and Farebrother Trophy. Furthermore, the partnership underscores a commitment to investing in youth development and supporting village-based clubs, which are essential to the core of Tailevu rugby.

This initiative not only aims to elevate the sport within the province but also demonstrates a broader commitment to community empowerment and the development of sustainable sporting activities throughout Fiji. The collaboration is a promising step toward strengthening the rugby community and ensuring that the sport continues to thrive for future generations.
