Nabil Begg's Bold Leap: Islander Chooses Pro Football with Bula FC

Island Talent Signs with Bula FC, Eyes Pro Career

Nabil Begg, the eldest son in his family, is embarking on a promising professional football career as he signs with Bula FC, marking a significant step away from academics. As the club’s eighth signing, Begg acknowledges the crucial role his family’s unwavering support has played in this achievement.

“I feel very blessed. It’s not easy for island boys to get a professional contract, so now that I’m given the opportunity, I’m going to give everything,” he stated, reinforcing his commitment to work hard, honor his family’s legacy, and embrace this remarkable opportunity.

Hailing from the soccer-enthusiastic town of Ba, Begg developed a passion for the sport early on, often playing with his brothers in their backyard since the age of five. His talent blossomed as he represented Varavu Primary School in both U12 and U14 competitions. His high school journey at Kamil Colleges saw him become a key player on the U16 and U18 teams.

Begg’s career took a crucial turn at 15 when he caught the eye of former Ba head coach Kamil Swamy during the NCC tournament, which led to his promotion to the Ba Senior team. He made his debut at just 16 years old and has since participated in the U20 World Cup, the U23 team, and the national squad.

Now, as he steps into this exciting chapter with Bula FC, Begg looks to his family’s support to help him excel on the pitch in the upcoming OFC League next year. His journey is a testament to the power of determination and the impact of familial support, shining a light on the potential to achieve dreams against the odds.
