Free agent forward Isaiah Livers has reached an agreement to sign a two-way contract with the Phoenix Suns, as reported by ESPN’s Shams Charania. Livers, who was selected as the 42nd overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, had a solid beginning to his professional career with the Detroit Pistons. Over two seasons, he averaged 6.6 points and 2.8 rebounds in 22.3 minutes per game, showcasing shooting percentages of .426 from the field, .378 from three-point range, and .830 from the free-throw line across 71 games.
Unfortunately, Livers’ progress was hindered by hip issues over the past two years. He managed only 23 games in the 2023/24 season and did not play at all in the following season. After switching teams from the Pistons to the Wizards in January 2024 and being waived soon after, he underwent hip resurfacing surgery last fall to address persistent issues.
Livers has indicated that he has fully recovered from the surgery and is ready to return to the court. With the Suns, he will step into the team’s final two-way contract slot, joining rookies Koby Brea and CJ Huntley, who are also on two-way deals.
