Is an Oasis reunion on the horizon?
The iconic band, known for the rivalry between brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher, appears to be hinting at a reunion. Both siblings shared a mysterious video clip on their social media accounts, revealing the date August 27, 2024, at 8 a.m. The official Oasis website also features the same date prominently on its homepage.
While such posts could indicate anything from album reissues to archival footage, the timing coincides with a wave of reunion rumors. Reports emerged over the weekend suggesting that Oasis might perform in the U.K. in 2025, including a highly anticipated 10-night stint at Wembley Stadium in London. Liam Gallagher further fueled these speculations with comments on social media.
“I never did like that word FORMER,” he tweeted on Sunday morning.
One fan expressed dissatisfaction with the prospect of Oasis performing at Manchester’s Heaton Park, labeling it a “terrible venue.” In response, Liam said, “See you down the front you big fanny.”
Oasis disbanded in 2009 following Noel Gallagher’s exit from the band. Earlier this year, they received their first nomination for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, which could have prompted a reunion between the brothers. However, Liam quickly dismissed the idea, expressing his disdain for the honor on social media.
“Fuck the Rock n Roll hall of fame its full of BUMBACLARTS,” he tweeted at the time. He also commented on his brother’s possible attendance, saying, “The little fella loves hanging out with celebrities so he’d prob go; as for me I’m washing my hair and having a pedicure and a manicure.”
In June, Liam Gallagher began a tour celebrating the 30th anniversary of the band’s debut album, “Definitely Maybe,” with a reissue due on August 30.
