The landscape of NASCAR is experiencing a potential shift as 23XI Racing, led by standout driver Tyler Reddick, rises to prominence. Historically, the “Big Three” teams—Hendrick Motorsports, Joe Gibbs Racing, and Team Penske—have maintained a firm grip on the sport, but 23XI Racing’s recent success has sparked discussions about whether it’s time to consider them a part of the elite group, creating a “Big Four.”

According to Jordan Bianchi of The Athletic, 23XI Racing’s rapid ascent over the past few seasons should not be overlooked. Bianchi noted, “We talk a lot about the Big Three in this sport; is now we need to be talking about the Big Four?” He acknowledged Denny Hamlin’s perspective that the “Big Three” is typically associated with teams that consistently win races and championships. Yet, he emphasized the significant progress the organization has made since its inception.

Bianchi pointed out that 23XI has celebrated several achievements, including Bubba Wallace’s victory at the Brickyard 400 last season and Reddick’s consecutive wins in the 2026 season, including his triumph at the prestigious Daytona 500. Notably, Reddick has secured three wins in a row, including notable victories at Atlanta and COTA.

As of now, Reddick and Wallace occupy the top two positions in the points standings, reinforcing the notion that 23XI Racing is making a strong case for a place among the sport’s most competitive teams. While they might not yet be on par with the historical dominance of Hendrick, Gibbs, or Penske, their trajectory suggests they are closing the gap. As the season progresses, NASCAR fans and analysts alike will be watching closely to see if 23XI Racing can solidify its position among NASCAR’s elite. The early signs are promising, and the competition is certainly heating up, ushering in an exciting phase for the sport.
