Inter’s Carlos Augusto Faces Brazil Snub Ahead of Champions League Clash with Kairat Almaty

Inter Milan wingback Carlos Augusto recently spoke to the media ahead of the team’s Champions League match against Kairat Almaty. During the press conference held before the highly anticipated match, he also addressed his recent exclusion from Brazil’s national squad.

This season, Augusto has emerged as an integral part of Inter Milan’s squad. Under the guidance of coach Cristian Chivu, he has taken on a versatile role, playing as both a wingback and stepping in as a center-back when needed. To date, the 26-year-old has made 11 appearances across all competitions, including nine in Serie A. Notably, he contributed to Inter’s impressive 4-0 victory over Royale Union SG in the previous round of the Champions League.

Despite his solid performances, Augusto was left out of the Brazil roster for the upcoming international break. After having made his return to the national team last month, the player expressed his disappointment but also acknowledged the need for improvement. “We know that the national team is the objective of everyone in the World Cup year,” he shared. “I want to help Inter win, and I must improve to be ready for Brazil. The coach chooses, and I respect his decision.”

As Inter prepares to take on Kairat Almaty, Augusto emphasized the importance of securing a win, as goal difference can play a crucial role in the Champions League. He noted, “There are no easy games, but we’re playing at home. We must focus on ourselves and take three points; tough games follow.”

Augusto reflected positively on his experience under Chivu, explaining that the coach’s connection with the team fosters a strong atmosphere. “I feel more integrated,” he stated, appreciating the support for both new and established players. He highlighted the importance of teamwork, encouraging every player to give their best effort to challenge for starting positions.

On the subject of defensive challenges, Augusto acknowledged the need for improvement but remained optimistic. He pointed out that every match offers learning opportunities, stating, “We must continue our journey, which is more important than the victory.”

With an optimistic outlook, Augusto’s commitment to his club and a desire to represent his country reflect a bright future as he continues to develop his skills on the field.
