Interglobe Aviation Faces Stock Slip Amid Financial Fluctuations

Interglobe Aviation, the parent company of IndiGo airlines, experienced a decline in its stock price during today’s trading, falling by 2.05% to Rs 5578.00. This downturn reflects a change in investor sentiment towards the airline, which is included in the NIFTY NEXT 50 and NIFTY 100 indices.

Looking at the financial performance of Interglobe Aviation, the consolidated financials highlight the company’s revenue trends: in March 2024, the revenue was Rs 17,825.27 Crores, which increased to Rs 19,570.70 Crores in June 2024, and fluctuated to Rs 22,110.70 Crores by December 2024. However, there was a significant decline in September 2024, with revenue dropping to Rs 16,969.60 Crores.

Net profits also display volatility, with notable profits in most quarters and a loss reported in September 2024. For instance, net profit in March 2025 rose to Rs 3,067.50 Crores, following a peak of Rs 2,448.80 Crores in December 2024. The Earnings Per Share (EPS) figures mirrored this pattern, showing a positive outlook for the coming quarters with an increase expected by March 2025.

When assessing the annual performance over the past five years, Interglobe’s revenues have seen a consistent upward trend, from Rs 14,640.63 Crores in 2021 to projected revenues of Rs 80,802.90 Crores in 2025. Although the company faced significant losses in the preceding years, it turned around in 2024 with a net profit of Rs 8,172.47 Crores, although a slight decrease is anticipated in 2025.

The airline has demonstrated a strong recovery in cash flow from operating activities, which increased to Rs 24,151 Crores by March 2025, compared to negative cash flow in March 2021. Other key financial metrics show a solid Book Value Per Share (BVPS) of Rs 242.45, a high Return on Equity (ROE) of 77.47%, and a manageable debt-to-equity ratio of 0.19.

Despite today’s stock price drop, investor sentiments were previously quite bullish, as noted in a June 2025 analysis by Moneycontrol. With a strategic outlook, Interglobe Aviation continues to maneuver through a fluctuating market while building on its robust financial foundation, showcasing resilience and potential for future growth.
